Jasmine’s 8 month update

2009-03-21 08.26.16a.jpgJasmine is changing so much every day now. She has gotten very mobile. She’s not crawling yet, but she is rolling, and sliding her way around the house. She can get around pretty quickly now, so we’re sure to keep the gate closed. She also likes to dance when the music playing, just like her big sister. Not only is she moving, but she’s starting to show the beginnings of talking. So far, it’s mostly da da, some ma ma, and even a little na na (maybe Natalie?).

Another tooth and more

family-photoLast month we had family photos done at Bopomo. The girls were great, but unfortunately it was quite difficult to get them to smile at the same time. All in all it went quite well, and we finally have a photo of all of us together.

The girls are continuing to grow and develop like crazy. Jasmine’s second tooth broke through a couple of weeks ago, and she is starting to move onto non-pureed food like rice crackers. She is also starting to say “Da da” every once and while. It has nothing to do with me but I’ll take what I can get. :) Jasmine isn’t crawling just yet, but boy is she close. Natalie has been learning to read her alphabet and numbers for a little while now, and can consistently name all of them. It’s pretty amazing, and I’m excited to start teaching her to read some small words soon. She loves to sing and dance. She knows the words and tunes to lots of songs, and has some pretty cool dance moves to go with them.

This week the girls finished their swimming lessons. They had a great time and both clearly love the water. Natalie was very excited to go to swimming every week and she talked about it every day. Obviously we’ll have to continue both the lessons and swimming as a family.

Last weekend the Lower Mainland experienced some unusual weather. On Sunday after lunch we relaxed in the sun on our patio for a while, only to watch the snow fall heavily only hours later. I took these two photos less than two hours apart: 2:14pm 4:05pm
