Congratulations to our good friends and neighbours Keith and Amanda on the birth of their baby boy Jonas Carter Ribeiro. He was born July 10th, 2008 at 1:03am, and weighs 6lbs 13oz.

Last weekend we took a few extra days off and spent a long-weekend in Comox with my parents.  It was nice to get away from city for a few days, relax, and visit. We took Natalie to get her first haircut at Level 10 and it went very well. Natalie was well behaved and the stylist was very good with her.  It was just a trim as we didn’t want her to lose those beautiful curls! My parents have a wonderful yard for exploring with all kinds of plants, and great fruit and vegetable garden. Natalie enjoyed exploring the garden and helped pick strawberries (and eat them too).

While the weather wasn’t as hot as the previous weekend, we did spend some time at Kye Bay on Thursday. It has a beautiful, sandy beach and is just a few minutes away by car. Although we didn’t come prepared to swim, we had a great time playing in the waves and ended up pretty wet and covered in sand by the time we left. If the weather had been better it would have been nice to spend more time there.

On Friday, we picked up my grandma and went to the Hands on Farm Petting Zoo at the Filberg Lodge. She recently moved to Comox from Chilliwack, so it was great to be able to see her so easily. The petting zoo was lots of fun for everyone.

As usual, while we were there we took advantage of all the great food they have in the valley, eating at Avenue, Rocky Mountain Cafe, Benino Gelato, Hot Chocolates, and more.
