Sunday night was Natalie’s first night sleeping in a real bed. We were a little worried because in addition to switching from a crib to a queen-sized bed, she was also switching rooms. Thankfully, it went very smoothly. She cried for a few minutes, but then settled in and slept the whole night in her new bed. She woke up in the morning at 7am as usual and got out of bed by herself and headed downstairs to look for us.
Last night went smoothly as well. Natalie came out of her room once shortly after going to bed, but settled right away after being put back to bed and didn’t get up again until the morning. This morning she came into our room to find us first and then went downstairs and got her sippy cup of milk from the fridge all by herself. Now all we have to do is get her to make her own breakfast and we’re set! ;)
In other news, Christina is now 25 weeks pregnant. The baby seems to be very strong and active. I have been able to see and feel the baby moving for the last few weeks. It’s still amazing the second time around.
My parents, my brother and his family came to visit us last weekend. It was the first time all of us have been together for several years and only the second time that I’ve seen my new nephew Teagan. It was a really great visit and we went for a nice walk along the seawall from Science World to Granville Island and back. We played in the park at Granville Island, ate lunch and explored the shops. The weather cooperated wonderfully and we all enjoyed the Spring flowers and trees in bloom.
Natalie loves to build things with her blocks. We’re especially glad she does because for a while there she just wanted you to build things so she could destroy them. Here are a couple of pics of her building. As you can see, she managed to build a tower taller than she is all by herself. Now we just have to do something about the way she smiles for the camera… ;)
I hardly took any photos last month, so this weekend I pulled out the camera a few times. I ended up with a number of shots of Natalie I liked, so I’ve uploaded them to the gallery. Here is a sampling.
